Here you will find instructions for installing the necessary software for the three most common operating systems: Windows, macOS and the various Linux distributions.

Many of the programs we will use here (as well as more advanced software) function better, or exclusively, on Unix-based operating systems (i.e., not Windows).

Windows-Linux Dual-Boot

While it is still possible to complete the workshop using a Windows machine, we strongly recommend, particularly considering your future studies, that you also install Linux on your computer alongside Windows. This allows you to choose between the two operating systems each time the computer is booted. If you wish to set up a dual-boot installation, feel free to follow our instructions. Since performing a dual-boot installation for the first time may not be entirely simple, we are happy to assist you with the process. To request help, select the corresponding option during registration or contact us via email.
